GGU NATIONAL TRIAL TEAM
Membership in GGU's Trial Team is a prestigious and highly coveted distinction that greatly enhances members’ law school experience. GGU's Trial Team is composed of a select group of students who compete in regional and national competitions throughout the United States.
GGU has earned a national reputation for excellence in trial advocacy. One of the reasons for this recognition is its award-winning Trial Team.
The trial competitions require students to demonstrate their trial advocacy skills in a simulated jury trial, during which they are evaluated by experienced trial lawyers and judges.
Through this participation, a student will have the opportunity to perfect trial skills to a degree not possible through classroom instruction, and enjoy the most memorable experience of his or her law school education.
To learn more about GGU's mock trial program, including how to try out for the team, please contact Litigation Center Director Kaelyn Romey at firstname.lastname@example.org, or the Baxter Fellows at email@example.com.
Tryouts for the fall 2017 competition season will be held August 16-18 on campus in the Baxter Room. Students must sign up for an appointment to try out for the team on the Litigation Center's TWEN page. Sign-up sheets will open 9 am on August 7, 2017.
"Mock trial was hands down the most practical experience I had in law school. Nothing prepared me as much as my time on the mock trial team for practicing law as a licensed attorney."
"The competition, the camaraderie, the challenge, I loved it all."
"I was a little blown away by the amount of work and preparation that was needed to pull off a mock trial competition. But in the end, it was all worth it and I wanted to sign right back up for another competition."
